Brexit Party is like Marathon Bars becoming Snickers same recipe, different name.

Given that Nigel Farage was supposed to have has quit Ukip after 25 years in protest over new leader Gerard Batten's 'obsession with Muslims' and his appointment of Tommy Robinson as an adviser on 'Muslim rape gangs'. 

It  is surprising (Well not really ) that  of the Brexit Party's new AMs has called far-right activist Tommy Robinson a "courageous character".

David Rowlands said the ex-English Defence League (EDL) leader "reflects the views of a great many people".

The comments contrast with those of Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, who has called Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, a "thug".

The Brexit Party said Mr Rowlands' was giving a personal view that did not "in any way" reflect the party's position.

'And so, with a heavy heart, and after all my years of devotion to the party, I am leaving Ukip today,' he Farage  wrote in The Telegraph last December. 'There is a huge space for a Brexit party in British politics, but it won't be filled by Ukip.'

Speaking later on LBC, Mr Farage accused Mr Batten of 'turning a blind eye to extremism' and attempting to turn the party from an 'electoral' force into a 'party of street activism'.  

During an interview with BBC Wales about why he quit, Mr Rowlands said he did not think it was "appropriate" for UKIP "to promote" Mr Robinson's "situation in the way that it seemed" it had been.

But he said: 

"I'm not sure that it's true to say they were going to the right in particular with regard to Tommy Robinson.
"I think that Tommy Robinson reflects the views of a great many people. He's quite a courageous character."

 The assembly member said it had to be put in "context that Tommy Robinson certainly hasn't been convicted of any real heinous crimes at all".

Under his real name of  Stephen Yaxley-Lennon "Robinson" has

1.  had a twelve months prison sentence for assaulting an off-du has ty police officer. He was convicted for assault for causing bodily harm and assault with intent to resist arrest while his partner was cautioned for possession of cocaine.
2. He was involved in a fight between supporters of Luton Town and Newport County in Luton, on the evening the two clubs played at Kenilworth Road. He played an part in starting a 100-man brawl. In July 2011, he was convicted of having used threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour on the night of the incident. He was given a 12-month community rehabilitation order and a three-year ban from attending football matches. He was also sentenced to 150 hours unpaid work, and ordered to pay £650 in costs.
3. He was arrested after an EDL demonstration in Tower Hamlets for breach of bail conditions, as he had been banned from attending the demonstration. 
4. He has been convicted of common assault after headbutting an EDL member at a rally in Blackburn.
5. He was fined £3000 and jailed for three days for holding a protest on the rooftop of a FIFA building in Zurich.

Mr Rowlands said he was not defending Yaxley-Lennon (Robinson).  The AM said he had made it "absolutely clear throughout my political career that as a Christian I am not a racist in any shape or form".

Yer  he regards a racist as a "Courageous Character",

Nigel Farage was alsi  forced to distance himself from one of his senior party officials last night after it was claimed he had defended Tommy Robinson and suggested Islamophobia was 'made up'.

Noel Matthews, the Brexit Party's national election agent, was said to have posted an article sympathetic to the far-Right activist last year, writing: 'Tommy Robinson Drew Attention to Grooming Gangs. Britain Has Persecuted Him.'

This February, according to Buzzfeed News, he also praised a rally organised by Robinson at the BBC, saying: 'Tommy's no politician but it looks like he has the BBC bang to rights.'

Meanwhile, in 2017 he wrote that 'Islamophobia is a silly, made up word' and said: 'Poor old Islamophobia. Used to be the best excuse for closing down the debate until those others came along.'

The remarks appear to contradict Mr Farage's claims that his new party is 'deeply intolerant of all intolerance'. When he quit Ukip last year, Mr Farage blamed its obsession with Robinson and Islam.

Mr Matthews is the third senior Brexit Party official found to have posted offensive comments online. Its founder, Catherine Blaiklock, was accused of having made a series of anti-Muslim comments and later resigned as leader.

Anyone who thinks that these people  quit Ukip because of its supposed far-right shift and islamophobia is mistaken.

The reason is they saw Ukip as a spent force and that the possibility of Farage making a  return to the leadership may have met with derision.

Instead he formed a new party, but just Marathon Bars  were names snickers in 1990, Opal Fruits (as it was known in the United Kingdom) became Starburst in 1998. and Jif cleaning products (as it was known in the United Kingdom) became Cif in 2000, the recipe did not change .

The Brexit Party os in reality the Farage Party just as Ukip was.

Nothing has changed it is still the same type of Xenophobes, that UKip consisted of.
