It was only a matter of time before Unionist, reacted against the recreation of the ’Cofiwch Dryweryn monument throughout Wales and Labour AM Hefin David was one of the first.
Well especially for you Hefin.
For some reason he then expressed surprise , that people expressed their disagreement , with him
To be fair some of the comments were harsh and he has provided us with some
Can’t help thinking that graffitiing ‘Cofiwch Dryweryn’ on public land devalues the original monument and is about as cool as drawing
Che Guevara on your wheelie bin

My view that the current wave of graffiti is carried out frivolously and not in the same spirit of struggle as the original, has been met with the expected wave of tolerance and studied debate. #CofiwchDreweryn

- The original was created in much the same circumstances - Meic Stephens and others drove around Wales painting numerous slogans. It just happens that Cofiwch Dryweryn was maintained.
- It's not a farce! It's a movement. It's great to see so many people painting it across Wales and re energising the debate. Shame you think that.
- On public highways? Originally it must have been shocking. Now it just looks a mess. To leave the original standing alone is far more striking.
- Anywhere. It's people choosing to do it in their area- learning and spreading its significance to a wider audience.
- I disagree. On your own property, it’s a tribute. Painting it just anywhere (eg common land) is breaking the law.
- I’m with Hefin on this one. Mind you, if it had been my garage, I would have paint rollered that Banksy too
