Brexit: Wales made their bed, but it's Scotland i feel sorry for.

This week our friends in Scotland celebrated ST Andrews Day, it could have been the first since the 2014 that they could have held as an Independent Nation.

The result could have seen the world knocking on  the First Minister Scotland's door eager to do business with the World's newest nation.

Instead despite  voting overwhelmingly voting remain 62% as opposed to 32% the people of Scotland face being forced out of the European Union by the rest of the UK and ironically this is being led by Unionist who had claimed that there was no way Scotland could have remained in the European Union.

Since then although the Yes vote is not the majority the gap in the polls is far from being out of reach for Independistas in Scotland.

As for Brexit almost  70% of Scots would now vote to remain in the EU, according to a recent poll.

It has been often claimed that Spain with its own Indepentista movements would veto Scotland remaining in the EU or even rejoing after the UK leave
However Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell said on November 20 that his country would not object to Scotland joining the European Union as an independent nation – but only if the secession process from the United Kingdom was legally binding.
Borrell said: “Why not? If they leave Britain in accordance with their internal regulation, if Westminster agrees.”
“If Westminster [Britain’s national parliament] agrees, why should we be against it? (…) I think the United Kingdom will split apart before Spain,” he told Politico in an interview before a live audience.
There has been much made of a Second Brexit referendum  with the argument that not only UK voters had changed their minds but that LEAVE  campaigners had not only lied but had acted illegally.

If this applies to Brexit then it should be also applied to Scottish Independence.

Some may argue that rather than reversing the Brexit result it would be an advantage for Scotland's Independistas if the UK left the EU and would see an immediate rise in those who would votr Yes in a new Independence referendum.

I an not sure about this as as we face the economic disaster of a "No Deal Brexit" people will And "always keep a-hold of Nurse for fear of finding something worse".

But it is the people of Scotland who are Sovereign  and from a fellow Welsh Independista,I urge them to reconsider their  2014 vote, and seek a new future away from a growing right wing, xenophobic UK

hard to disagree with your sentiments bout wales having 'made its bed' glyn, and if brexit happens bout the only consolation would be the Scots might leave this most unequal 'union'. But wales being left as part of some hybrid 'england & wales' state - and outside the eu - is a truly frightening prospect!

If that happens and a right wing tory party wins the next General election expect legislation at westminster to abolish the welsh assembly, thus completing the annexation and the erasure of wales as a nation!
