It would be easy for me to dismiss the latest Welsh Political Barometer Poll and say that we are living under unprecedented times, and as this daily blogger actual political news beyond the coronavirus , is hard to come by.
Nevertheless , it still pretty shocking to find the Tories are poised to become the largest party in the Welsh Senedd, without seemingly doing anything as a "Welsh" Party that gives us any real idea of what they are offering Wales
The Westminster Poling is
Conservatives: 46% (+5)
Labour: 34% (-2)
Plaid Cymru: 11% (-2)
Liberal Democrats: 4% (-1)
Brexit Party: 3% (no change)
Greens: 2% (no change)
Others: 0 (-1)
This would mean the Tories would easily becoming the largest Party in Wales , with the Red Wall not so much breached as entirely demolished.
Conservatives: 25 (+11)
Labour: 12 (-10)
Plaid Cymru: 3 (-1)
Conservatives: 38% (+2)
Labour: 32% (no change)
Plaid Cymru: 19% (-1)
Liberal Democrats: 4% (-1)
Brexit Party: 4% (no change)
Greens: 3% (no change)
Others: 1% (no change)
The result for the Senedd Elections would also be staggering
Constituency Vote
Conservatives: 38% (+2)
Labour: 32% (no change)
Plaid Cymru: 19% (-1)
Liberal Democrats: 4% (-1)
Brexit Party: 4% (no change)
Greens: 3% (no change)
Others: 1% (no change)
Regional Vote
Conservatives: 37% (+4)
Labour: 29% (-2)
Plaid Cymru: 18% (-1)
Liberal Democrats: 4% (-1)
Brexit Party: 4% (no change)
Greens: 3% (no change)
Abolish the Assembly: 3% (no change)
Others: 2% (no change)
This would see the overall make of the next Senedd looking something like this
Conservatives: 26 seats (15 constituency, 11 regional)
Labour: 23 seats (18 constituency, 5 regional)
Plaid Cymru: 10 seats (6 constituency, 4 regional)
Liberal Democrats: 1 seat (1 constituency)
For "Welsh" Labour it does look that their failure to give any leadership than to simply follow Westminster could cost them heavily.
But the real worrying thing about this poll is that the Welsh Electorate is beginning to to cease to exit and simply mirror that of England.
It is hardly surprising .We have had virtually no n stop propaganda from the London Media which has not questioned the Tory Government handling of the Coronavirus Crisis including thier slow response and their initial policy of "Herd Immunisation" which would have led to TTens of Thousands of more Deathd.
But this is not new much of the Tory surge seems to have come from those who voted for the Faux Brexit Party last year.
For Labour supporters in Wales particular, the belief that change can only come from winning power at Westminster seems to be a long way off and we are likely to see the Tories in power there for more tham a generation.
There is only one solution and we need to increase the call for Independence , with a radical Progressive message.
We must inspire our nation and this will have to be done on the streets , in the absence of a progressive media let alone a Welsh one.
