BBC misleads (maybe) on Wales and EU

There's an interesting aspect to the BBC Wales  poll on Welsh attitudes to membership of the European Union

The poll asked

"The prime minister has said he wants to renegotiate the UK's relationship with the EU and hold a referendum if he wins the next general election".

Poll: Question on EU membership

Note, that the question was about the UK and not Wales being better off outside the EU.

Why didn;t the BBC include whether people thought Wales would be better off in or out ?

Perhaps we should also look at the  ITV Cymru Wales/YouGov Opinion Poll for the Sharp End suggests that Wales would vote for Britain to stay in the European Union if a referendum was now
  • Remain in the EU 42%
  • Leave the EU 35%
  • Don't Know/Won't Vote 22

  • Does this ambiguity suggest that Welsh voters may have a different opinion on the EU when looking at it from a Welsh rather  than a UK perspective?
  • To be honest I don't know, but  I find it incredible that BBC Wales didn't seek to find out.

I find nothing 'incredible' about the BBC. A vast smug, imperialistic, condescending, patronising monstrosity, which is a mask for a state broadcaster. It is an organisation which has failed time and time again, since its creation in 1922, to hold successive governments to account for incompetence and corruption.
