New Governor for Wales appointed , God help us.

Boris Johnson starts his new term as Prime Minister  by appointing a new Governor General  for Wales
Simon Hart has been named the new Welsh secretary after Boris Johnson's election victory for the Conservatives.
He succeeds Alun Cairns, who resigned at the start of the campaign amid a row over what he knew about an aide's role in the collapse of a rape trial.
The Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire MP was previously a junior minister in the Cabinet Office.
Monmouth MP David TC Davies has been made junior minister in the Wales Office and will be deputy to Mr Hart.
Mr Davies, the former chairman of the Welsh Affairs Committee, will also serve as an assistant government whip, No 10 confirmed on Monday evening.

Mr Hart's Wikepedia entry includes.

In October 2019, Hart was criticised for having the largest set of expense claims for a Welsh MP for first class rail tickets. Official guidance from the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority - set up in the wake of the 2009 expenses scandal - stated politicians should "consider value for money" when booking tickets; however, first class rail travel is still permissible within the expenses rules.[10]

Countryside Alliance and animal rights[edit]

Hart is an outspoken supporter of fox hunting and the badger cull. He actively campaigns to overturn the 2004 Hunting Bill and assist the National Farmers Union of England and Wales.[12] In January 2013, Hart said the RSPCA's legal role needs more oversight given its "political and commercial activities" in a critique of the charity's role lobbying against fox hunting.[13]

Brexit[edit]

Hart was opposed to Brexit prior to the 2016 referendum.[14]

Defacement of election placards[edit]

In the run-up to the 2019 general election, Hart shared an image of a campaign placard which had been defaced during the 2017 general election.[15] Referencing the levels of "abuse … vitriol and intimidation" to which candidates had been subjected in 2017, Hart used a Facebook post to call for high standards of conduct among candidates - a subject on which Hart has worked to find cross-party solutions since the 2017 election.[16]

Personal life[edit]

Hart lives in London and Llanmill near Narberth in Pembrokeshire with his wife Abigail and their two children.[17] He employs his wife as his Office Manager.[18] He was listed in articles in The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian criticising the practice of MPs employing family members, on the lines that it promotes nepotism.[19][20]

So  he is an MP who treats his constituency  as a Holiday Home ,
As for the camplaign placard part of the Wiki entry seems to habe been deleted in the last 24 hours

In the original Wiki quote I seem to recall Mr Hart he was storing the placard in a garage which was broken into and further defaced.

Still it would seem odd to further deface  what  was already a very nasty and abusive  piece of defacement , just to garner more sympathy, wouldn't it?
