Clive Lewis increasingly look like the progressive candidate.

Yesterday I blogged that one of the candidates  for the Labour leadership  "gets it"

Norwich South MP Clive Lewis said that the UK should be a federal state with the “maximum possible” autonomy for its constituent nations. has called for Welsh Labour to be autonomous from the Labour party in England and Scotland.

Interestingly he has  has called for a referendum on the future of the Royal Family, saying “a lot of people would like to see the monarchy scaled down."
Launching his campaign this morning, the Norwich South MP said he sympathised with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to step back as senior members of the Royal Family.
However, he also suggested their bombshell announcement should spark important discussions on the future of all royals.
"Let’s talk about what a modern state looks like and what the role of the Royal Family would look like," he told a audience in Brixton, south London yesterday.

Now it could be that Mr Lewis is trying to give  himself a Unique Selling Point (USB), but it would be telling that the only candidate who offers those of us who are republicans , who are a substantial minority a voice.

I suppose that this is probably correct

Mr Lewis looks like missing the  nomination  as he fails to receive the 22 threshold of nomination.

Ifan Morgan Jones , actually points to very problem of the "UK" left , they may be a fair number of republicans and federalists in the Labour Party , but they are silenced by the fear of the Tabloids and other media.

If the defeat of Jeremy Corbyn and Michael Foot before  him proves it may be impossible for a truly progressive leader  of the Labor Party to become  Prime Minister.
For those in the Labour Party who want real change from a Tory Party or a Blairite Blue Labour in power , then its time they realise that if they want their views  to come to pass then, its time to end the Union.

Not that Paid or the SNP  are an ideal choice.,how many  senior members would have the courage like Senedd member Bethan Sayed to propose this

I mean, I am a Republican and want a Republican Wales. I'd like to have a referendum on Welsh Independence at the same time as one on the Republic..... Saves on having too many referendums.....
😊

It's not a case of saying that the majority of Scots or Welsh  do not want a Republic as well as Independence , it's up to us to persuade them
