We unfortunatley need Liz Saville Roberts at Westminster.

Since being elected for Dwyfor Meirionnydd and  especially after Plaid Cymru's  leader Liz Saville Roberts has   proved to be the most formidable  of all our Welsh MPs in Westminster.

I have no doubt she would be a huge asset not only to Plaid but to the Welsh Assembly if she decided to shift to Cardiff Bay, as the BBC suggest she is considering.

According to the BBC she has indicated she may stand for a seat in the national assembly.
Ms Roberts said she was disappointed with Lord Elis-Thomas' decision to leave the party to become an independent AM in October.
She represents the same Dwyfor Meirionnydd seat in Westminster.

Though the Beebs headline looks more like speculation or even mischief making,

For they go on to say

However, Ms Saville Roberts would not be drawn on where she might stand, only saying the Senedd "is the place" where she could most make a difference.
Ms Saville Roberts became Plaid's first female MP at the 2015 general election and heads a Westminster group of four.
In May, 2016, Lord Elis-Thomas won the Dwyfor Meirionnydd seat in the assembly with a majority of 6,406 - 47.3% of the vote - as a Plaid Cymru candidate.
However, he left the party in October last year following a series of disputes with Leanne Wood, and had been voting with the Welsh Government.
In a cabinet reshuffle last month, he was appointed minister for culture, tourism and sport - a deputy to economy secretary Ken Skates.
Ms Saville Roberts told BBC Radio Cymru's Dewi Llwyd programme it would have been fairer if he had stood down to force a by-election.
While the next assembly election is not due until 2021, she said there would be a selection process for a Plaid candidate and names would be put forward.

"Being inquisitive is one of my main faults. Let's see if the opportunity arises," said the 52-year-old.
"There's a lot of work still to do here in Parliament, here in London. And I'm not getting younger so I have to ask myself what is practical?
"But it is true to say in practical terms I would like to make a difference to the life of Welsh people and Cardiff is the place to do this."

It has been argued that when the Scottish Parliament  was set up whilst the SNP sent its best to Holyrood, Labour kept their at Westminster and apart from Donald Dewar it comprised of a Scottish Parliament  run by Labour's B Team.

But quite frankly if our Parties in Wales can't find top candidates to fight and win all six assembly seats and  current forty Westminster  then they are in poor shape.

Proposals to reduce the number of Welsh MPs may suggest to aspiring politicians to concentrate on Westminster

Former Liberal Democrat AM Peter Black recently stated

The case for more AMs is based on the steady accumulation of law-making powers by the Assembly over the last few years. These powers have been devolved from Westminster. It makes sense therefore that if we need more AMs then there should also be fewer Welsh MPs, as logically their workload will have decreased.

Welsh Liberal Democrats support for these proposals should be based on that quid pro. If one institution gets more politi
cians, another should have fewer. That way we do not add to the cost of politics,

I see the argument but coming from a member of a Party that claims to support Federalism its rather odd .

As Brexit has shown all the major powers will lie with Westminster including abolition or weakening the powers of devolved Legislatures.

One of the aspect of the Leave campaign was that   it was generally accepted Scotland and Ireland voted to Remain  it made not the slightest  difference  and English votes were all that mattered even if Wales had also voted for Remain.

If we lived in a True Union then there would be more Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish representatives rather than less.

Why should English MPs completely out vote the other Nations of the "Precious Union" when it comes to War or supplying Undemocratic  countries like Saudi Arabia with Arms.

Question: how can we not refer to Saudi Arabia as a Totalitarian Regime because it is a Kingdom. Wasn't  there a English Civil War over this issue?

The truth is wee need as many Plaid SNP and Greens from England tom put forward a real opposition  to the Tory-Labour English Nationalist dominated UK Parliament.

In a true union we would have a veto on many of the policies out side English Laws for English votes.

But as Brexit as shown the views of the majority of Scottish voters has been ignored.

Reducing Welsh MPs would result in more power for English MPs taken us down roads we may not want to'

We unfortunately needs quality Welsh MPs like Liz Saville Roberts at Westminster as long as decisions are made there against the interest and wishes of the people of Wales.
