The Office of Internal Colonialism .

Mims Davies has been named as the new junior minister in the Wales Office.
The Conservative MP for Eastleigh in Hampshire replaces Stuart Andrew, who left the Wales Office to replace Guto Bebb at the Ministry of Defence.
Aberconwy MP Mr Bebb resigned as a defence procurement minister in a Brexit row over the Customs Bill.
Whilst Stuart Andrew was born on the 25 November 1971 in Anglesey. He grew up on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, and was state educated at Ysgol David Hughes in Menai Bridge and is like his predecessor a Welsh speaking  ( is speaking  Welsh a requirement  in the  Ministry of Defence)?
Ms Davies, only connection to Wales  seems to be that she studied politics and international relations at Swansea University, will not be paid for the role.
Where is Eastleigh you may ask
map showing the location of Eastleigh

She will combine it with her paid job as an assistant government whip, enforcing party discipline in votes in the House of Commons.
Ms Davies said.
"I look forward to returning to Wales and taking on the role of parliamentary under secretary of state, continuing the work of my excellent predecessors,"
Welcoming the appointment, Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns said the "fantastic MP" would be
"putting her formidable skills to good use and playing a key role in the delivery of policies that further support the growth of the Welsh economy" at the Wales Office.
What next PM appointing a Welsh Minister from England  who once went on a day tip to Bangor?

There have been calls that after devolution that the Welsh Office should be abolished ,After the farce of renaming  the second Severn  to crossing to the Prince of Wales Bridge    Welsh food at the Royal Welsh is being branded as British. It is clear that Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns sees his job to remind Wales of its subservient  role as a English colony,

Indeed why doesn't the PM merge the Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Irish  Offices into "The Office of Internal Colonialism "?

At least it will be a name that truly reflects its nature.

Think you're being a bit harsh on the new Wales office minister Glyn. Not only did she study at a university in Wales but her CD collection includes the greatest hits of both Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey and she lists the stanley baker directed epic 'Zulu' among her favourite films.
