Post Brexit.Labour should consider finding a Welsh Lifeboat

If Plaid  are going to put  a greater emphasis on the I word under their new leader, it seems "Welsh" Labour will revert to its pre-devolution ways  of "Nat Bashing".

Q: What do you think Labour’s message should be to people who vote Plaid? VG: We need to take on the Nationalists and their views on independence. They want to remain in the EU but not in the UK.

Mr Gething clearly believes that Wales should continue being run by Tories in England, together with  compliant, lethargic Labour goverment in Cardiff Bay.

As it seems does his rival Mark Drayford.

I would have thought that the EU is "our most important partners and market",.

Whilst I don't expect any senior Labour figures in Wales to to even mute the possibility of Independence for Wales after Independence, surely as the Titanic heads for the Iceberg it is time that "Welsh" Labour, consider  the matter of a Lifeboat.

Much as I support those calling for a Peoples vote on the Tories Brexit  plans (whatever they are) the chances of us leaving the EU next year are still very much higher than us remaining.

I also believe if this happens then Scotland will hold a successful Independence referendum and will not  only become Independent but rejoin the EU in less than a decade. There is also less of a chance of a reunited Ireland especially if the issue of the UK boarder in Ireland cannot be resolved in a manner that suits both governments and the majority of those in the six counties.

How then will Labour react one of the above or Eluned Morgan , will probably be Welsh First Minister when the UK leaves the EU and we need to know what  vision they have for Wales post Brexit.

Even they would surely accept that in a scenario that the UK would only exist as just England and Wales , then  Wales' role would be  similar to that of the The England cricket team  which represents England and Wales but at no stage is Wales recognised.

Status of Wales[edit]Historically, the England team also represented Wales and Scotland in international cricket. The Scottish Cricket Union severed ties with the TCCB in 1992, with Wales continuing to be represented by England. Plaid Cymru have argued that Wales should have its own international team and withdraw from the existing arrangement under which Welsh players play for England. The proposal has aroused strong opposition from Cricket Wales and Glamorgan County Cricket Club, who argue such a move would be financially disastrous. The debate focused on a report produced by the Welsh National Assembly’s petitions committee, which reflected the passionate arguments on both sides. Bethan Jenkins, Plaid Cymru’s spokesperson on heritage, culture, sport and broadcasting, and a member of the petitions committee, said: "Cricket Wales and Glamorgan CCC say the idea of a Welsh national cricket team is ‘an emotive subject’. Of course having a national team is emotive. You only have to look at the stands during any national game to see that. To suggest this as anything other than natural is a bit of a misleading argument.n their strategic plan, Cricket Wales state they are "committed to continuing to play a major role within the ECB"

Will we see "Welsh"  Labour resembling Glamorgan Cricket club, in denying a Welsh identity as long as they can have pretend parliament in Cardiff ans the majority of Welsh MPs even if they face a Westminster government run by English Tories.

"The chances of us leaving the EU next year.."
Glyn, leaving is a certainty because of the EU Finance Bill becoming law on April 1st 2019.
A transition period, if any, and how long it will last are open to negotiations, but they are not open-ended. We leave on March 29th 2019. I am Yes Scotland and Yes EU.
